Schrijf zelf je recensie
Spirit of soundtracks, een zoveelste compilatie van jaren filmmuziek. Ik dacht: voor die prijs moet je het niet laten (9.99€!), maar laat me direct met de deur in huis vallen: toch wél.
Deze 4-cd box is een verzameling wansmakelijke interpretaties van bekende filmklassiekers. Ok, het staat vermeld op de achterkant dat het niet de originele versies zijn, maar ik had op zijn minst verwacht dat het om andere orkesten ging, zoals bvb. The city of Prague Philharmonic. In plaats daarvan worden we getrakteerd op tenenkrullende synthesizer-covers onder namen zoals: hercul orchestra, sinfonietta movie orchestra, enz...
Hier en daar tóch wat betere tracks die dan tóch door The city of Prague Philharmonic gebracht worden. Ook staan er een paar originele artiesten op zoals o.m. Edith Piaf. Maar de meeste andere songs zijn ook gecoverd door 2de rangs artiesten, zoals de openingstrack van deze box, I will always love you uit The Bodyguard. Ook de versie van Once upon a time in the west is gewoon tenenkrullend (Mocht Morricone al dood zijn, zou de maestro zich omdraaien in zijn graf!)
En zo zou ik nog uren kunnen doorgaan, maar deze Spirit of Soundtracks is het gewoon niet waard om veel woorden aan vuil te maken.
Kortom, laat je niet misleiden zoals ik en laat liggen die handel. Een gewaarschuwd man is er twee waard.
Dankzij de schaarse originele uitvoeringen en de opwaarderende uitvoeringen van the city of Prague Philharmonic kan ik deze ontgoochelende box toch maar amper een 3/10 geven.
